“The hand that rocks the cradle is the hand that rules the world.” William Ross Wallace
One of my all time favourite poems. I honestly believe this to be very true. From the influence of my own mother and other motherly figures in my life, to the influence myself and others have over my children.
Growing up in a single parent home, my father committed suicide a few months before I was born, I can’t say I had a rough childhood, life was actually pretty stable and happy. My dad left behind my pregnant mother and five sons.
Mom worked tirelessly, playing the role of mother and father and I have to praise her for an outstanding job. I am certain that it was no mean feat bringing up six kids alone. With only half the amount of kids she had, and a husband to help me, I still often wonder how she did it. But she did!
She is by far the strongest woman I know. Her strength and tenacity are only but a few of the qualities I admire about her.
Thank you Mom, for all you’ve done and the legacy you’ll leave behind. Thank you for never giving up and always putting us first. Thank you for doing your best even in trying times. It was a privilege to spend the day with you and celebrate you!
Thank you! I love you!
Happy Mother’s Day Mom ❤️
